First Two Days of NaNoWriMo!

I can’t believe it’s already Day 3 of NaNoWriMo! It’s been so much fun so far. I have hit my word count goal both Friday and Saturday I haven’t started writing today’s words yet, but I have faith that I will hit my goal today as well.

I realized that I haven’t told you much about my NaNo project, so I figured I would do that today. Like I said in my earlier post, this project is based on a short story I wrote for a creative writing class. The original story was based on a picture as a prompt. The picture was of a man floating in a translation. There were people on the ground, and only one person saw the floating man. My story ended up being about time travel. I have since looked at the picture again and realized that the floating man was a guy who had winged shoes like Hermes. I interpreted the one person who could see the floating man as a woman, but it was actual a child.

So I definitely misinterpreted the picture, but I am happy with my story. Here is the synopsis that I have so far:

Hollie always thought routines were the key to success in life. That is, until she met Sam, a time traveler from the 1900s. Sam always wanted to think about the present instead of worrying about the future. That is, until he met Hollie in 2019. Hollie and Sam test each others beliefs as Hollie works to teach Sam how to live in the 21st century and as they work to hide from the Time Travelers Bureau.

If you are participating in NaNo this year, what is your project about? Do you like time travel stories?
